Peggy seeks to facilitate a yoga journey that provides a path to navigate life’s many challenges, taps into a deep well of gratitude and serenity, and supports an experience of profound calm and presence. Peggy has studied with Rene Quenell and Tracee Stanley, both of the Para Yoga tradition, as well as Addie deHilster of Spiral Path Yoga Center. She holds certifications from Yoga Works and Yoga Madre (500 hr). Peggy has enjoyed teaching pop-up yoga at Lululemon in Pasadena and at the Alex Theatre in Glendale through Glendale Arts.

Meet the Team

Mel first stepped onto a yoga mat in 2003, in a six week "Introduction to Yoga" course at the renowned Center for Yoga in Los Angeles. The basics she learned in that course still provide an invaluable foundation to her practice today. However, It would be many years and career paths before she would find her way working in fitness. Under the guidance of Nona Chiang, Hayleigh Zachary, Casey Coda and Amy Lafond at Yogaworks, she has completed her 500 hour professional teacher training certification, as well as the Urban Zen Level I Integrative Therapy program, a unique combination of various healing modalities: yoga therapy, Reiki, essential oil therapy, nutrition and contemplative care.  Mel aims to weave the elements of physical strength, therapeutics and healing into her classes to hopefully encourage a sense of physical and mental well-being.  When not on her mat, you can find her rooting for the USC Trojans, watching an Audrey Hepburn movie or walking her yorkie, Sabrina.

Torrie was born in Chicago pretty casually around lunch time. Virtually after exiting the womb she was put in ballet classes where she was deemed strong but not flexible. Her parents decided to put her in yoga and pilates classes as means of cross-training and gaining flexibility. Torrie was also a worrisome high-strung kind of gal, so they decided that the meditative aspect of yoga might be beneficial. Thus began a decades-long journey. She earned her yoga certification in Rishikesh, India as a means of deepening her personal practice, but quickly fell in love with teaching. She taught yoga in New York and Chicago alongside her dance career as a Radio City Rockette and principal artist at The Lyric Opera of Chicago and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She gained more insight and depth as a teacher by earning her certifications both in Pilates and Barre workouts. Torrie believes that taking time out for yourself to breathe and move is the ultimate panacea for the stress of everyday life. She couldn’t be more grateful to share her love of movement.

Kimi's heart for community started at a young age when she began to actively serve in her hometown in Northern California. Her passion for health and wellness began when she popped in her first Mari Windsor Pilates VHS in 2002. After receiving a B.A. in Business Marketing, M.A. in Theology and Ministry, and a certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher, Kimi decided to merge her passions into Rose City Yoga. When off the mat, Kimi can be found riding her bicycle, walking her dog, or catching up with friends over a cup of coffee (or wine, or both).
